Was Obamacare Worth IT??
Seems to be worth it to the middle class. President Obama’s Health Care Reform Law was passed this June and supporters of Obama couldn’t be happier. Despite their celebratory actions, many others aren’t happy at all. So as a citizen in the country you have to wonder: Was Obamacare worth it? Was it worth the cost of being re-elected?
This new law was put in place to ensure that all U.S. citizens are allotted affordable health care in this country. The other end of the spectrum is that those citizens that do not purchase health care will have to pay a fine when filing taxes every year they are with out the insurance, according to the infographics via American Progress.
Of course the Republican Party has their comments. Romney (the presidential candidate running against Obama) has simply said, “If we want to get rid of Obamacare, we have to get rid of President Obama.” So the race is on, and the campaigning continues.
C. Robinson feels that “Obama has a better chance because he is reaching the people this law really affects. The middle and working class citizens who may not have insurance now due to affordability.” She goes on to say this law affects her personally because “…now I know my grandchildren will have health care until they are adults; I will never worry about if they are getting proper care when it’s needed.”
In The Washington Post, The President states that “Today’s decision was a victory for people all over this country whose lives will be more secure because of this law and the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold it.” Which supports exactly what C. Robinson was saying previously. Showing that there are Obamacare supporters out here who back him on the law.
Republicans are on his heels however. According to The Washington Post they are looking to “repeal and replace” this law upon a republican taking office.
For now, let those who are in need of this law be grateful, and we all will stay tuned for the Presidential Election in November 2012.
